experience the beach

Miles of fine, snow-white beach sand - that is and remains the most attractive and tempting argument. The beach always strives to tempt people to idleness. It lies lazily in the blazing sun, and one or the other visitor does the same, whether lazing in a windless beach chair or stretched out on the warm, soft seashore. While the stately backdrop of the spa villas opens up behind him, the endless expanse of the Baltic Sea stretches out in front of him. As far as the eye can see. To the horizon. She is a capricious lover, they say. Sometimes crowned with white crests, sometimes polished smooth in the hot sun, sometimes whipped by a stiff breeze, sometimes frozen by the freezing weather. But nothing is as constant as the sea, with its deep blue, the sound of the waves and its distant view. Who wouldn't want to grab a box seat?

It's the twilight of the morning when nothing and nobody breaks the silence. It's the scent of sunscreen that's always in the air. It's the screeching of seagulls as they circle and soar on the breeze. These are sky blue days when castles grace the water's edge. It is the gold of the light that is reflected on the facades. It is the harshness of winter when the piers in the Baltic Sea freeze. It's children's laughter when kites fight with their strings. It's the familiarity of the sound as the waves pound the shore.

It is the all-encompassing sea that gives us unforgettable moments.

beach beauties

Whether water sports enthusiasts, sun worshipers, dog owners, sandcastle builders or those looking for peace and quiet - everyone will find a paradise of fine sand on the kilometer-long beach of the imperial baths.

Ahlbeck border beach

On the border between Germany and Poland there is a section of beach that offers natural access as well as quiet corners. While swimwear is common in one area, fans of free physical culture and owners of fluffy furry friends will also find their fine sandy paradise on the border beach between Ahlbeck and Świnoujście.

Ahlbeck pier

The pier in Ahlbeck, today the oldest of its kind in Germany, was inaugurated in 1898. Because of her age, the grand dame is probably the most popular photo model on the island. Loriot was so entranced by her appearance that he not only gave her back her original white coat of paint, but also made her the secret star of his film Pappa ante Portas.

Sports beach Ahlbeck

On, on, in the water - the sports beach of the Imperial Baths offers the right program and the right course for beginners or professionals and for tension or relaxation: whether volleyballs over nets, enjoying yoga in the beach sand or facing the sunrise with the stand-up board paddle. The sports beach is open every year in July and August, the facility is available from May to October.

Heringsdorf pier

The original Kaiser Wilhelm Bridge was christened as early as 1891. But in the 1950s it burned down, completely destroying the landmark from the imperial era. After almost 40 years, Heringsdorf finally gets a new pier in 1995, which at 508 meters will be the longest in Germany.

Event beach Heringsdorf

Cinema can be experienced particularly impressively on a screen measuring more than 40 square meters. With popcorn in one hand and a drink in the other hand, you can not only enjoy children's films and blockbusters at the Heringsdorf pier in summer, but also sit in a deck chair and indulge in the view of "pictures in the sea" that show our island with different eyes and from present new perspectives.

Bansin pier

Bansin, as the smallest of the imperial spas, only got the 285 meter long pier in 1990, although there is said to have been a pier back in the early days. In relation to the sisters in Ahlbeck and Heringsdorf, the pier in Bansin is kept puristic, without any bridge buildings.

Bansin cliffs

On the steep coast, not only the waves of the Baltic Sea are constantly rushing, but also the crowns of the beeches on the Long Mountain. The probably most natural beach in the imperial baths offers not only sections for fans of free physical culture and owners of fluffy fur noses, but also a breathtaking view over the endless sea - provided you dare to climb the steep 54-meter staircase that is hidden on the slope of the cliff.

Our beaches
Endless

Almost twelve of a total of 42 kilometers of sandy beach belongs to the imperial baths. Whether with or without swimming trunks, wheelchair, dog or board: the beaches of the imperial baths - from the border beach in Ahlbeck to the steep coast in Bansin - offer the right beach for every type of person.

Safe

Every summer, the lifeguards of the German Red Cross watch over the beach from their 12 lifeguard towers. If the red and yellow flag flies there, the tower is occupied. If a red flag also flies, there is a general ban on bathing. A yellow flag symbolizes the bathing ban for inexperienced swimmers.

Sustainable

Whether Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf or Bansin - the Blue Flag has been flying on the beaches of the imperial baths for years: A seal of quality for good bathing water quality and environmentally friendly measures. The Blue Flag is awarded for one season at a time, so compliance with the standards for coastal protection, beach management and environmental education is checked anew every year.
