Accessibility in the Kaiserbäder
The Kaiserbäder stand for a vacation that’s accessible to everyone. Between the beach, the boardwalk, and a wide range of activities, accessibility is actively embraced here—with well-designed paths, supportive services, and infrastructure that caters to diverse needs. This ensures that every guest can enjoy a relaxing, comfortable, and carefree time by the sea.
On the Beach with a Disability
Accessible Beach Entrances
Twelve accessible beach access points lead across the dunes and the sand via step-free planks and rubber mats.
In Ahlbeck, beach access points 1A2, 1K, 1M, 1N, 1P, 1R, 1X, and 1Y are accessible to people with disabilities, and access points 1G and 1Z are barrier-free.
In Heringsdorf, beach access points 2F, 2K, and 2R are accessible to people with disabilities, and access point 2Y is barrier-free.
In Bansin, beach access points 3D, 3F, 3G, 3H, and 3L are accessible to people with disabilities, and access point 3I is fully accessible.
Beach Wheelchairs
Beach wheelchairs are special wheelchairs with large, wide wheels that allow people with disabilities to enjoy the beach. They are designed so that they do not sink into the sand. When the waves are calm, these beach wheelchairs also allow users to swim in the Baltic Sea.
Beach wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge at beach access points 1/S in Ahlbeck, 2/F in Heringsdorf, and 3/F in Bansin.
Accessible Beach Chairs
Accessible beach chairs can be rented at Ostseeplatz in Ahlbeck (Beach Access 1/S), at Fischerstrand in Heringsdorf (Beach Access 2/R), and near the Hotel Kaiser Wilhelm in Bansin (Beach Access 3/F).
Accessible restrooms
From the Polish border in Ahlbeck all the way to the Langer Berg in Bansin, 15 of the 22 public restrooms along the promenade are wheelchair-accessible. You can find the wheelchair-accessible restrooms in Ahlbeck at exits 1A5, 1E, 1L, 1N, 1R, and 1Z; in Heringsdorf at exits 2D, 2G, 2K, 2R, and 2T; and in Bansin at exits 3A, 3C, 3I, and 3J.

Accessible Exploration | The Kaiserbäder are connected by the promenade and public transportation, so everyone has the opportunity to discover the diversity of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf, and Bansin for themselves. Whether it’s an exhibition at the Kunstpavillon, a play at the Chapeau Rouge, or a workout at the OstseeTherme Usedom —even away from the beaches, nothing should stand in your way of experiencing the impressive diversity of the Kaiserbäder.
Parking in the Kaiserbäder
The Kaiserbäder have a well-developed parking guidance system for all major public parking lots. This allows day visitors to use the PARCO app to find available parking spots in Bansin, since the parking situation in the seaside spa town is similar to that in large cities. The advantage of the PARCO app is that you can book your parking ticket directly through the app, without needing change or waiting in line at the parking meter.
Events in and around the Kaiserbäder
Our event calendar features 2,000 entries, making it as diverse as life itself. From informative local walking tours to trips to the Achterland or Świnoujście, all the way to the Baltic Lights Sled Dog Race, which attracts 60,000 visitors. Find all upcoming event dates here. Let the fun begin and be part of unforgettable moments— because most of our events and tours are accessible to everyone.
