Pier in the Kaiserbäder

Landscape. Experience.

Welcome to , our piers

The piers at the Kaiserbäder of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf, and Bansin are a highlight in their own right. That’s why they’re also a popular destination for walks along the sea—nowhere else are the sunrises as beautiful as they are from our piers. At the head of each pier is a dock for sightseeing cruises between the piers on the island of Usedom or to neighboring Poland. One aspect of the piers that is often overlooked is their history—from their portrayal in films to major fires and their complete reconstruction. So there’s plenty to experience on and around the piers.

Ahlbeck Pier

It has been part of Ahlbeck’s townscape since 1882; at that time, it still featured an open area with a restaurant and a stage, and from 1898 onward, it also included a boat landing. In the winter of 1941–42, a storm surge drove massive chunks of ice against the pier, destroying it. It wasn’t until the early 1990s that it was rebuilt; it is now 280 meters long. Even Loriot was fascinated by the “Grande Dame” and filmed several scenes here in 1991 for his movie “Pappa ante portas.” Today, the pier is a popular photo spot, restaurant, and tourist destination. Since January 2023, the pier’s railing has been illuminated in changing colors.

Heringsdorf Pier

The Heringsdorf pier also has a long history. It was built entirely of wood in 1891 and was then known as the “Kaiser-Wilhelm-Brücke.” In 1903, a boat landing was added. After the end of World War II, the pier lost its charm; it was hardly used or maintained anymore and was ultimately destroyed by fire on June 27, 1958, set by two arsonists. In 1995, the pier as we know it today was built, and it now features a shopping promenade, souvenir shops, and several restaurants.

Bansin Pier

Even though it doesn’t have any buildings on it, at 285 meters long, it shouldn’t be underestimated. At the end of the pier, you’ll find a unique view of the Bansin cliffs and the quieter part of the Kaiserbäder coast. The Adler ships also dock here regularly, allowing you to admire the entire Baltic Sea coast from the water.
