Pier

welcome to
our piers

The piers of the Kaiserbäder Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin are a highlight in themselves. That is why they are also a popular destination for walks by the sea; nowhere are the sunrises as beautiful as from our piers. At the head of the piers there is a jetty for excursions between the piers on the island of Usedom or to neighboring Poland. One aspect of the piers that is often forgotten is their history - from film depictions to major fires and completely new construction. There is a lot to experience on and around the piers.

More information

Ahlbeck pier

It has been part of the townscape of Ahlbeck since 1882, at that time with an open space with a restaurant and a stage and from 1898 also with a boat dock. In the winter of 1941/42, a storm surge pushed massive chunks of ice against the pier and destroyed it. It was not until the early 1990s that it was rebuilt and measures 280 meters long. Loriot was also fascinated by the "Grande Dame" and shot some scenes here for his film "Pappa ante portas" in 1991. Today the pier is a popular photo motif, restaurant and excursion destination. Since January 2023, the railing of the pier has been illuminated in changing colors.

Heringsdorf pier

The Heringsdorf pier also has a long history. In 1891 it was built entirely of wood and was then called the “Kaiser Wilhelm Bridge”. In 1903 it was extended to include a jetty. After the end of the Second World War, the pier lost its charm, was hardly used or even maintained and finally fell victim to the flames set by two arsonists on June 27, 1958. In 1995, the pier we know today was built and now has a shopping mile, souvenir shops and several restaurants.

Bansin pier

Even though it has no buildings, its 285-meter length is not to be underestimated. At the end of the pier, there is a unique view of the Bansin cliffs and the quieter part of the Kaiserbäder coast. The Adler ships also dock here regularly, allowing you to admire the entire Baltic coast from the water.
