Accessibility in the imperial baths

Welcome to the Kaiserbäder – your place for a relaxing seaside holiday, accessible to all guests. Our beaches and promenades are more than just places to relax; they are places of inclusion and accessibility. We make every effort to ensure that people with different needs have easy access to our stretch of coast. Whether it's barrier-free paths, special beach wheelchairs, or beach chairs – we focus on an inclusive experience.
Accessibility is also provided on the promenades as well as in the numerous hotels and restaurants in the imperial spa towns of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin.

With a handicap on the beach

Barrier-free access to the beach12 barrier-free beach accesses lead over the dune and sand with stepless planks and rubber mats. In Ahlbeck the beach exits are 1A2, 1K. 1M, 1N, 1P, 1R, 1X and 1Y are disabled-friendly and exits 1G and 1Z are barrier-free. In Heringsdorf, beach exits 2F, 2K and 2R are disabled-friendly, exit 2Y is barrier-free. In Bansin, beach exits 3D, 3F, 3G, 3H and 3L are disabled-friendly, exit 3I is barrier-free.

Bansin beach access

beach wheelchairs are special wheelchairs with large, wide wheels that allow people with disabilities to enjoy the beach. They are designed so that they don't sink into the sand. Beach wheelchairs can also allow swimming in the Baltic Sea when the waves are light.
The beach wheelchairs can be found at the beach exits 1/S in Ahlbeck, 2/F in Heringsdorf and 3/F in Bansin can be borrowed free of charge.

Accessible beach chairs can be rented at Ostseeplatz in Ahlbeck (beach exit 1/S), at Fischerstrand in Heringsdorf (beach exit 2/R) and at the level of the Hotel Kaiser Wilhelm in Bansin (beach exit 3/F).

Disabled toilets | From the Polish border in Ahlbeck to Langen Berg in Bansin, 15 of the 22 public toilets along the promenade are handicap accessible. You will find the disabled toilets in Ahlbeck at exits 1A5, 1E, 1L, 1N, 1R and 1Z; in Heringsdorf at exits 2D, 2G, 2K, 2R and 2T and in Bansin at exits 3A, 3C, 3I and 3J.

Barrier-free discovery | The Kaiserbäder are connected by the promenade and public transport, so everyone has the opportunity to discover the diversity of the towns of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin for themselves.  Whether exhibition in the art pavilion, theater in Chapeau Rouge or sports in the OstseeTherme Usedom – Even away from the beaches, there should be no obstacles in your way to experience the impressive diversity of the imperial baths.

Bansin pier

The 285 meter long pier offers a beautiful view of the silhouette of Bansin.

Heringsdorf pier

The 504 meter long pier in Heringsdorf leaves nothing to be desired.

Ahlbeck pier

The landmark of the island of Usedom and Germany's oldest pier, only real in Ahlbeck.

The viewing platform of the treetop path in Heringsdorf is 75 meters high. The view is spectacular!

Traveling with your own car

Parking in the Imperial Baths

In the Imperial Baths there is a well-developed parking guidance system for all larger public parking lots. So day guests with the PARCO app Find free parking spaces, because the parking situation in the sea spas is similar to that in large cities. The advantage of PARCO app is that you can book the parking ticket directly via the app, without change or queuing at the machine. The hosts often have their own parking spaces or underground garages.

Disabled Accommodations | Whether holiday apartment or hotel, guesthouse or holiday home – they all warmly welcome guests with disabilities. Camping is also possible without any problems.

On the way between the imperial baths with public transport and bike

Pier hopping between Bansin, Heringsdorf and Ahlbeck several times a day (and depending on the waves).

Free bus travel with the UsedomCard (spa card) |

– in summer every 20 minutes between the three imperial baths.

Usedom bathing railway |

The UBB runs every half hour in summer and hourly in winter. It connects all seaside resorts on Usedom's outer coast and is also for day trips, e.g. B. to Peenemünde, recommended. It is possible to take bicycles with you.
