– Please note the bridge opening hours

The Kaiserbäder are easily accessible via the A20 (Baltic Sea Highway) from Berlin and Hamburg. Just before the island of Usedom, two bridges lead from the mainland to the island: the Peene Bridge in Wolgast (“Blaues Wunder”) and the Zecherin Bridge near Anklam.

Both bridges are opened several times a day to allow ships to pass. This may result in waiting times:

  • Peene Bridge in Wolgast: daily at 5:45 a.m., 8:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 5:45 p.m., and 8:45 p.m.
  • Zecherin Bridge: daily at 8:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m., and 4:45 p.m.

Additional openings take place from April through October.

Traveling by long-distance bus & getting around once you're there

You can also easily reach the Kaiserbäder Usedom by long-distance bus. The Usedomer Bäderbahn (UBB) offers regular service from Hamburg directly to the island of Usedom. In addition, FlixBus has a steadily growing route network with numerous connections.

From May through September, the Ostsee Express also runs from Zwickau to Ahlbeck.

You’ll also enjoy flexibility while you’re there: The Kaiserbäderlinie bus can be used free of charge with the Kaiserbäder Usedom Card and conveniently connects the towns of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf, and Bansin. Bus schedules are available at the tourist information offices.

Traveling by Train

The Kaiserbäder on Usedom are easily accessible by train—from all parts of Germany. You’ll usually need to transfer at least once: both ICE and Intercity trains—as well as regional trains—stop in Stralsund or Züssow, from where the Usedomer Bäderbahn (UBB) takes you directly to the seaside resorts.

The UBB crosses the Wolgast bascule bridge, passes through the coastal towns and seaside resorts, and takes you comfortably to your destination— Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf, or Bansin.

Traveling by Plane

Blue sea, white beaches, and green forests—the island of Usedom is a sight to behold even from a bird’s-eye view. Heringsdorf Airport offers quick and comfortable access via scheduled and commercial flights.

From May through October, flights take off and land from Kassel, Luxembourg, and Friedrichshafen. In addition, there are direct flights from Zurich from June through August.
