Visitor's tax
The UsedomCard ensures that you can “ >: Experience the Sea” ( Meer.Erleben.)< during your stay and vacation. With it, you not only make an important contribution to the preservation and further development of the tourism infrastructure, but also enjoy additional benefits and experiences during the best time of your year.
Your Contribution | As state-recognized seaside resorts, Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf, and Bansin collect a visitor’s tax; upon payment of this tax, you will receive the UsedomCard. The proceeds go toward information services, cleanliness, safety, and cultural programs. The funds are used, among other things, to finance concerts and events, clean the beach and public restrooms, maintain and landscape the promenade, and provide and compensate the water rescue service. As a guest, you thus benefit from the visitor’s tax retroactively.
Your Benefits | With the UsedomCard, you can enjoy numerous experiences—such as concerts, guided tours, and hikes—free of charge. You also have free access to our Kaiserbäder sports beach during the summer months and to our active promenades year-round. Furthermore, you can use the local bus service—particularly the Kaiserbäderlinie operated by VVG (Verkehrsgesellschaft Vorpommern-Greifswald mbH)—free of charge, allowing you to get around the towns of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf, and Bansin.
How to Obtain and Use the Card: Overnight guests receive their UsedomCard directly from their accommodation provider upon payment of the visitor’s tax; day visitors can purchase it at the tourist information offices or conveniently obtain it from the visitor’s card vending machines.
Please carry your UsedomCard with you at all times. You must present it during inspections by the Kaiserbäder Public Order Office.
