Alongside the successful caricaturist and aspiring painter Lyonel Feininger, Julia Berg felt just as committed to her artistic visions as he did to his. Both inspired each other's creativity. The first years of their relationship were marked by a real creative frenzy.

Julia and Lyonel Feininger met and fell in love on the Baltic Sea. The almost daily letters give an idea of ​​the lively artistic and emotional exchange the two artists had throughout their lives and the extent to which their personal crises were interwoven with the social problems and global political catastrophes of their time.

Kristin Giertler and Thomas Kornmann bring a piece of art history to the stage whose historical references are hard to beat in terms of topicality.
