The writer Erich Kästner, who stayed in Germany despite strong hostility during the Nazi dictatorship, and the poet Mascha Kalekò, who had to leave Germany because of her Jewish descent, met for a working discussion after the war. They not only exchanged views on their literary work, but soon also on their personal lives, their successes and defeats, their hopes and fears.

A touching evening that, despite all its thoughtfulness, does not leave out the humorous aspects.
