Apart from her dog Sunday, Valerie loves nothing more than the stories in her favorite books. That is why she is thrilled when her teacher invites her to a reading night in the School But in the school library, by moonlight, she encounters an incredible creature: the Book Twirl. The green, furry Twirl ensures that all the book characters stay in their stories. Unfortunately, he's not particularly clever, and two fairy tale characters have just escaped. Valerie doesn't hesitate for long: Together with Sunday, she jumps after the Zwirp into a book and finds herself in the middle of a fantastic adventure.  

During the reading, the children not only accompany Valerie on an adventure, but also talk with author Kathleen Freitag about their favorite books and book characters. They consider which book they would one day slip into and learn interesting facts about books. Afterwards, they get creative and create crafts together to match the book.
