The life of Dorothea Schlegel – She was the daughter of the famous Enlightenment thinker Moses Mendelssohn and became the wife of the philosopher Friedrich Schlegel. She was Jewish and intellectual, scandal-ridden outsider and divorced, a romantic and sensual Lucinde and a Biedermeier lady, an enlightened salonnière and a militant advocate for God.

The renowned journalist Carola Stern portrays an extraordinary woman who had the courage to live as she saw fit. Reading with German studies scholar Dr. Ute van der Maer.
