Crime comedy: Mindful Murder, Chapeau Rouge

To stabilize his marriage and cope with the growing pressure between his law firm, family, and questionable clients, criminal defense attorney Björn Diemel finds himself increasingly caught in a web of professional expectations and moral dilemmas. Newly prescribed mindfulness therapy is meant to provide relief and guide him toward a more mindful daily life. But while Diemel tries to consistently implement the insights he gains, the tranquil world of meditation clashes with the unpredictable dynamics of organized crime, from which he can hardly escape professionally.

What begins as an attempt to bring order to an overloaded professional and private life develops into an astonishing, sometimes frighteningly consistent application of mindfulness principles in situations for which they were hardly intended. Amidst self-help literature, criminal business structures, and a rapidly escalating chain of events, a darkly humorous tension arises, in which composure suddenly becomes a razor-sharp weapon.
